Pekanbaru, FPKHighlight – Fish Harvest at FPK Unri Reservoir, Academic Community and Students of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPK) Universitas Riau flocked to the FPK Unri reservoir to catch fish, Tuesday, July 11, 2023.
Also present were the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Rifardi along with the vice deans, Prof. Nofrizal, and Ir. Jonny Zain MSi. This event was opened by the Vice Dean II for General Affairs and Finance. In his remarks, it was stated that, while carrying out the fish harvest, this activity also aims to dry out the reservoir before it is repaired and improved to be even better.
“Today we are carrying out a fish harvest, seeing the condition of our reservoir which will be repaired and improved in the future. Then we plan to restock fish, every year, and we harvest at a certain time,” said Iskandar.
The atmosphere during the main harvest was very 'fun' marked by all FPK residents including students competing in catching fish, supported by the weather and bright morning clouds.
Various types of fishing equipment were simply brought down to the reservoir, ranging from fishing rods, fishing rods, nets, used sacks to trash baskets. The fish were also varied, ranging from catfish, tilapia, sepat and baung. In less than an hour they were able to collect at least 50 kg of fish. This activity lasted until eleven o'clock and was continued with a cooking event and eating together. [a/mas].
